This is barely news as everyone knew it was happening, but a sequel for The Karate Kid remake is being fast tracked. Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff, writers of Kung Fu Panda, have been tapped to pen the sequel. I very much doubt this would be a remake of the original second Karate Kid… lets see how this one develops

Ok…it’s been a while since we had a post. Both the TheHappyKnife and I have been ridiculously busy with these things called “jobs” and doing dumb stuff like “paying our rent.” We are gonna sit down and figure out a more manageable update schedule….that being said I came across this trailer minutes ago and couldn’t stop laughing. Yes, Jackass is dumb… but god it’s funny as shit and I’m really looking forward to this movie!

Michael Cera is the “It” geek actor out there with a long and varied resume filled with odd-ball outsiders. He is kind of the John Cusack of our generation. His latest movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World both fits in nicely and stands out at the same time. The film is directed by Edgar Wright and looks really interesting. Cera is in love with with a girl with 7 ex-boyfriends who all happen to have super powers. Cera must defeat all of them to win the girl. Sounds like pure awesomeness.

The big news of the release date for the next Batman movie may have hogged all the glory away from the latest trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Inception. I have to admit that I was only mildly curious when I saw previous trailers for Inception. They all looked interesting but without any hint of what the story was about. This current trailer erases any confusion and Inception is now my most anticipated movie of the summer… ok second most to Donnie Yen’s Ip Man 2!

Rumors are circulating that Kick-Ass helmer Matthew Vaughn is close to directing the latest X-men movie, X-men: First Class. For those of you that enjoyed Kick-Ass as much as we did are certain to rejoice at the prospect of Matthew Vaughn taking the reigns to this comic book movie. Vaughn was at one point set to direct X-man Last Stand but walked away do the the lack of creative say and tight deadline that he was forced to meet leaving the door open to Brett Ratner stepping in and destroying the franchise making the film his own.

…War Horse! As reported by the always insightful Deadline Hollywood, that Steven Spielberg’s next feature will be based on the novel War Horse. Below is the trailer for the London stage production.

From what I can gather from the trailer is that this feels a lot like E.T…..ya know if he was from earth and shaped more like a horse.

MTV sat down with Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau who had nothing but great things to say about the prospect of Joss Whedon directing the Avenger’s movie. No confirmations have been made by either the Marvel camp or the Joss Whedon camp so all we can do is keep crossing our fingers.

Ok we are all assaulted by movie trailers on a near daily basis… very rarely have I seen a trailer this ballzy and encompassing it’s central premise than this teaser trailer. I don’t know who stars in the movie, when it’s coming out or ultimately if it will be any good… but for right now it does have my interest.
